Should an eating time schedule be important? This is just one of the questions that need to be answered in order to determine if scheduling an individual’s eating time is in fact a good way to lose weight. A balanced diet should always be considered when designing dietary methods for losing weight.

In general, planning what you eat in a day and when to eat your meals can significantly help you maintain your balanced diet. According to a small study, eating all of your meals earlier in the day can help you lose weight and suppress your appetite.

If you are looking for other ways to improve your diet, health, and wellness, there are some simple dietary methods for doing so that may fit your lifestyle. There are also effective eating routines that you should definitely consider to improve your overall health.

How Can You Lose Weight By Eating Earlier?

There are several researchers that have conducted studies on the best dietary method. While some of these studies have determined which type of dietary method is the best when it comes to losing weight, some of the studies have not considered other factors that might affect an individual’s journey to weight loss.

In recent times, an increasing number of people have practiced intermittent fasting as a weight-loss strategy.

Intermittent fasting is a term that refers to a variety of eating patterns in which people alternate between fasting for 12 hours or more and eating periods. It is a type of eating plan in which you take turns between eating and fasting on a regular basis. This eating habit has been shown in studies to help people lose weight and prevent diseases that come with being overweight.

There are many common eating patterns you can add to your diet with shorter fasting periods. One type of intermittent fasting is early time-restricted feeding, in which people eat all of their meals every day but within a limited time frame. It is a fasting process that involves consuming your daily calories in the morning and early in the afternoon prior to actually fasting for the rest of the day. Early time-restricted feeding could help alleviate appetite and boost fat burning, as shown in a new study published in the journal Obesity.

“Prior to this study, we had evidence that both intermittent fasting and eating earlier in the day help with weight loss, but we didn’t know why they seem to help,” said Courtney Peterson, PhD, the study's lead investigator and assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Eating Meal Plan to Lose Weight

When is the best time to eat and how to reduce your appetite? To conduct this study, Peterson's research group enrolled 11 people to participate in this study who had fair overall health but were considered overweight, with a body mass index of 25 and 35. For four days, each participant considered trying two different meal-timing schedules. Participants consumed relatively similar amounts and types of food while adhering to each eating time schedule.

During the early time-restricted feeding schedule, participants ate all of their meals between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day. People involved in the comparison schedule ate their meals between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The researchers determined that when participants ate all of their meals between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., it had no significant impact on the number of calories burned — but it actually appeared to minimize the participants' desire to eat.

It was found that ghrelin, the hunger hormone, was lower in the morning and tended to be lower in the evening when people adhered to the early time-restricted feeding schedule. When people tried early time-restricted feeding, their desire to eat decreased, and the only time of the day when they were hungrier than the comparison schedule was right before bedtime, around 10:30 p.m.

Early time-restricted feeding also tends to increase the number of calories burned by participants over a period of 24 hours. Although further research is required, these results imply that synchronizing regular meals with the body's circadian rhythm may aid in appetite suppression and weight loss.

Choose the Best Dietary Method That Suits Your Lifestyle

Although some people would consider early time-restricted feeding beneficial for controlling their feelings of hunger or maintaining their weight, experts claim that it is not the most preferred technique for everyone.

Fasting may not be the best approach for someone who develops signs of low blood sugar while fasting. Some people may overeat throughout their eating time schedule in order to avoid hunger afterward, which might result in weight gain.

Pregnant women or those who are undergoing treatment for a health condition such as cancer may struggle to manage their nutritional requirements while only eating for short periods of time and eating small meals. Intermittent fasting could make it increasingly challenging for some people to share meals with family or friends, as well as to adapt to changing social occasions involving food.

It is important that we should consider our health safety and how well our bodies can cope with a certain eating routine. Maintaining as much consistency in your daily eating method as possible is essential to help your body learn when to expect meals or adjust to the eating time schedule. Therefore, ensuring the ideal eating approach is necessary to achieve a healthy weight loss outcome.

One thing that we need to remember is that the best dietary method is one that does not compromise or negatively affect your overall body health. That is why it is important to consult individuals that are experts in weight loss in order to determine which type of dietary method suits you better. Jumping into a dietary method without proper research can cause significant and irreversible damage to your overall body health. Weight loss is a long journey and is not something that you can just do without proper preparation.
